Reorder Posts Updates

Short release notes, fixes, and changes for Reorder Posts.

  • Drag from the grip

On a tablet or a touch laptop, trying to scroll down a long reorder list used to grab whichever post title your finger landed on. Or worse, dragging a row would highlight the text instead of moving the post.

Every row now has a narrow dotted grip on the left edge. Drag from that grip to move the row. The title itself stays plain text so you can scroll the page or copy a title without accidentally reordering your content.

  • Pages keep their children

When you reorder pages or any hierarchical post type, parent pages with children show a small leaf arrow right after the title. Click it to open the nested list underneath.

Flat post types like standard blog posts skip that child lookup completely, so opening the reorder screen does not run an extra query for every row.

  • One list, then the public page

Reordering posts in the admin writes to the built-in WordPress menu_order column right away, but I keep front-end auto-sorting off by default so installing the plugin never surprises a live site.

When you are ready for the public site to use that order, turn on Custom Order in the Query Loop block or set the post type default under Settings → Reorder Posts.
